Cincopa video hosting solution for your website. Another great product from Cincopa Send Files.

How many of you are busy students that would like to help out charities, but don’t feel like you can make a difference? Well, now you can with SocialVibe.com.

SocialVibe is a social media tool that allows people to utilize their online influence to make a real difference. Members choose a brand to endorse, which earns them opportunities to get brand perks and points within SocialVibe. The points that members earn are then turned into funds for the charitable cause of their choice, and perks are how the sponsors show their appreciation for SocialVibe and the members that support them. The winners of perks are decided by having weekly drawings. Members get their name put into the drawings every day until the winner is chosen. Some perks include doubled points, or even free shoes from Converse.

“SocialVibe was actually first thought up by the Joe Marchase, who is now the President of the website,” Editor of SocialVibe Alex Van Camp said. “I wish I could say he woke up one morning with the idea and it just took off from there, but that was not quite the case.”
The people who were creating and keeping up their pages were getting nothing in return for doing so. So after months of brainstorming and hard work, SocialVibe was born. People could finally represent their favorite brands, and in return get free donations for their charity, as well as perks from their brand.
There are over 46 sponsors, 34 causes, and thousands of brand perks to choose from. Some of the sponsors include Adobe, Gibson, Apple, Converse, and Billabong. To Write Love On Her Arms, Invisible Children, PETA, and World Wildlife Fund are just a few of the many charities and causes that can benefit from SocialVibe.

“I decided to make a SocialVibe account because I was looking for an easy way to support my favorite cause, Invisible Children,” sophomore Katelyn Eberlan said. “People need to realize that the [holocaust] in Darfur requires more attention than it is getting right now.”
SocialVibe has been public since February 2008 and started with only a handful of very passionate members. Those members are still active today, but now there are 400,000+ registered members
Junior Cynthia Rendon is also an active member on SocialVibe and feels that it is an honor that students like herself can help someone who needs it.
“To Write Love On Her Arms [is the charity that I support],” Rendon said. “I have friends that really relate to the story behind it, and I would like to find help for others [like them]. It’s a really rewarding thing to know that you’re making a difference.”

So join SocialVibe today, and encourage a friend or two, as well. It’s an easy, accessible way to make a difference in someone’s life… without having to break away from the internet for awhile.
