It is finally time for this 2008 presidential election to come to a close. The votes from the American people to elect the next president of the United States, will be counted in five days.

With party primaries, conventions, and political ads all runing over a year and a half now, this has been a very lengthy and indeed, exhausting election.

We are closing in on the final stretch and Sen. Barack Obama appears as though he will triumph over Sen.  John McCain.

By judging off state polls,  Barack Obama will be the next commander-in-chief.

John McCain is  behind in almost every national poll and appears to need the metaphorical fork, because he is essentially done concerning this election.

ABC News, RealClearPolitics, Rasmussen, and Zoogby News polls all have Senator Obama owning this election.

Obama has solid leads in all swing states, and is even gaining valid ground in red states, states that McCain shouldn’t have to be wasting time and the little  money he has, to protect.

The safe states for McCain are few and slowly shrinking, not to mention the fact that they are not even close to a majority in the electoral college.

The very man himself, John McCain, even admitted to FOX news that if things keep going the way they are that he will not be in the White House after this election, but returning home to Arizona and finishing a distinguished career as a senator.

Recently, a wise person really captured the enormity of Obama’s lead when she told me, “If John McCain were to win the election after being down this much, for this long, we would be completely in our right mind to storm the streets raving mad, and demand protest for some independent agency to figure out how we, as the American people, just got conned  out of our vote.”

So regardless of your political affiliation, a Democrat will finally be back in the White House.  It is clear that the majority of Americans are fed up with the Republican agenda. And finally, we are all done with President George W. Bush.

Barack Obama might not be the greatest president ever but he will be inagurated Jan. 20,2009.

I do not think people should judge Obama yet, I mean gosh give the man a chance to get his foot in the White House. I feel like I am obliged to say something because its kind of annoying to me when people predict how a person will be, or what they will do. You can’t tell the future!!! Eight years ago, everyone thought Bush was going to be a great President. Now look at how people view him!!! Change is defiently here!!
