Cheerleaders headed to Herty Elementary

The  JV and varsity cheerleaders will be at Herty Elementary Friday to help with the Young Athletes Program, the school’s version of a Special Olympics.

“We’ve gone the past three or four years,” head cheer coach TJ Patterson said.

According to Patterson, the cheerleaders will be helping with the different events and will be encouraging and assisting students that are running races.

The Young Athletes Program takes place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cheerleaders will be there throughout the day and will be returning in time for Friday night’s spring football game.
