School shooting warning just a rumor

Since early this morning, administrators have been aware that a threat was made to a LHS student involving the Latin King gang and students have taken it into their own hands to now claim it is a school shooting threat. LHS security is on full-alert, but according to administrators, they believe nothing will happen.
“The threat was not made to the school directly, it is just students texting rumors,” Principal Mark Smith said. “The gang making the threat did not say they would hurt the boy on campus or hurt other students.”
However, the school is not willing to take a risk by not having security on full-alert.
“I do not think anything is going to happen but I am not foolish enough to not have the police and other security measures into effect.”
Since the threat has been made, Smith has talked to three parents who all decided to make their children stay.
“If parents want to take their children home than that is understandable,” Smith said. “But the parents who have talked to me have all decided it is not as big of a deal as their children made it out to be.”

BOYS THESE DAYS DON’T KNOW WHAT GANGS ARE… IF SOMEONE TOOK THEM TO CALIFRONIA OR ANY WHERE ELSE TO SEE WHAT THE GANG STUFF IS ABOUT THEY WOULD HAVE A DIFFERENT MIND ABOUT IT!!!

kids think they should take things in there on hand and it should be that way kids should have someone to look up too not turn away from!!
I wish I could have talked to Mr. Smith so I would not have had to come to the school but I feel that the school should not blame the parents for coming to get their children. The only thing I was told by very rude school officials was “It’s under control.” After getting frantic phone calls from two children, I needed a better answer than that. Maybe thats why there are so many upset parents right now. Please don’t get me wrong, I have nothing but admiration for teachers because they are under paid and they are asked to do a nearly impossible job because they now have to be security as well as teachers in this day in time. However, More must be done in the future to better communicate with the students and the parents.

The officals are going to claim the event are rumors till something does happen. The school should have better security. People do bring guns to the school in their backpacks. Not only wepons but weed also. Believe it or not, kids smock them in the bathrooms. You can smell it.
Oh, I noticed in the article that it says, “…LHS security is on full-alert…” WHAT LHS SECURITY!? There isn’t NONE
