Jacob Fuller, Staff Writer/ Advertising Department
His friends call him Fuller. His spot on the Panther Growls staff is unknown. His work tagged under ‘miscellaneous.’ Fuller began as staff writer, however his interests have crept towards the advertising department. He is also involved in welding. Hopes and aspirations after high school for Fuller are also unknown at this time. He is a senior at LHS and is a rookie to the staff.
Aaron Lewis, Staff Writer
Aaron resides on the newspaper staff as a newbie. He is in the 12th grade. Aaron tends to cover sports, to be more specific, baseball. After graduation, Aaron will attend Southwestern Assembly of God University. Aaron is a hip little dude with his own ‘unique’ style. He likes baseball. He likes his purple drink. Did we mention he likes baseball?
Ca’ Shuanika Hoyle, Staff Writer
When one thinks of some of the hippest cats around, first thoughts should drift to Ca’ Shuanika. She is too much fun to be with. Those on the staff know her as “Ca Shaun C Shaun,” or that could just be Scott. She like many others on the staff is a senior at LHS. Her laugh is contagious and smile infectious. She covers a wide range of stories from the robotics team to extreme kayaking. High ambitions follow her after high school. She will attend Johnson & Wales in Miami, Florida. She is going for a forensic science major (Like C.S.I. stuff). Success is sure to follow Ca Shaun Shaun.
Valencia Bennett, Staff Writer
Valencia is a Junior here at LHS, and enjoying her time in high school. She is a loveable person, and is always enjoying her time. Valencia is in her second year on the Panther Growls staff. She hopes to attend A&M after her high school career concludes. One of Valencia’s countless talents is Softball. She has a mean bat and plays third base. Most of the stories she covers are tagged under sports. If seen, she will always have a smile on her face. Valencia is certainly the bee’s knees.
Malcolm’s Bio
Old dude Malcolm is quite the riot. If you are looking for entertainment, seek Malcolm. Mr. Malcolm is the Sports Editor for the staff. Those close to him say he is a young Wilt Chamberlain. Malcolm has many idols some are Randy Moss, Lebron James, Barack Obama and Amy Winehouse. Malcolm also plays a little b-ball here and there. He hopes to own an underground basketball arena. His favorite rappers are Lupe Fiasco, T.I., and Lil Wayne. One time, Malcolm split his pants during a third grade talent show. Usually talkative, fellow staff member Thalia Alvarado refused to comment on Malcolm. He said to me one day, “I can’t get no love from the crooked 5-0.”
Thalia’s Bio
Trick. Thalia resides as Lufkin’s Homecoming Queen. She soaks it in everyday, living as in glory days. She has an awesome ring. This girl is involved in numerous activities some of which include volleyball, basketball and weightlifting. She has a highly active profile on eharmony.com, so feel free to give her a shout sometime. Thalia most often works on all the multimedia activities that come along with the newspaper. She also needs to visit the eye doctor. Thalia is an quite the fan of solitaire. When she isn’t competing, she is usually vouching for women’s rights. The girl is quite the feminist. Other interests are George Clooney, puppies, cleaning, laundry and making sandwiches.
Chasity’s Bio
Chasity Belt. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Panther Growls staff. Chasity takes much pride in her position and is most often found writing the most stories for the paper. Post High School Chasity will seek her degree in journalism. Chasity remains very conservative in her views, so she and Scott usually don’t talk so much politics. Turn on’s include: Beards, Guy’s named Chris, Pro-Life, George Bush, FOX News, Jesus and Robert Redford. Turn offs include: Outer Space, Democrats (Obama), scrambled eggs, smacking gum and over-sized pants. Her favorite movie is The Holiday. Chasity hopes to live in a mansion, somewhere up in Wisconsin and become a trophy wife.
Sarah’s Bio
Sarah holds the position of Head Photographer for the Panther Growls newspaper. Sarah retains a true love for photography as evident by the camera always around her shoulder. She is also quite the environmentalist. One time, she spent six days in a rainforest tree to prevent the cutting down of the forest. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys activities such as dog racing, car restoration and trampoline jumping. Those around her describe her as a female Bruce Willis. One of her role models is the lovable Mr. Harshman. “I LOVE HIS SWEATER!” Sarah is also a texting fool. If it’s not a camera in her hand, its a cellular. One other notable aspect is her colored pants. The colors of Sarah’s pants include: pink, purple, yellow, and blue of course.
Emma’s Bio
Three words to describe Emma: Unique, Red-Haired, and not-on-time. (Three words in essence.) Emma is the entertainment editor for the newspaper. When at school, Emma is not hard to miss. Emma hopes to pursue her major in music management. Emma. She likes The Fray. She’s a Republican.
Scott Al-Safin
Scott characterizes himself as a intelligent man with many hopes and aspirations. He has a distinct sense of humor and can usually squeeze a laugh out of just about anyone not in a coma. Scott likes long walks on the beach, and some sultry jazz. He is actively interested in following current events, Sweden, and the political scene. Hobbies of Scott’s include competitive eating, base jumping, and dance offs. His favorite publication is The New York Times. Some influences in his life are Jay Leno, Joe Klein, Albert Gore, Bill and Hillary, and of course that young chap from Illinois who was recently elected President. Favorite movies include: Training Day, The Departed, Michael Clayton, Pineapple Express, Braveheart, Dawn of the Dead, 40 Year Old Virgin. Favorite shows include: Entourage, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Tonight Show, Scrubs, House, The Office, SNL, and The Daily Show. They all come highly recommended by Scott.
