When you think of the 2008 Heisman trophy canidates the names that pop in your head are Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow.
Sam Bradford of Oklahoma, a redshirt sophomore quarterback, has thrown for 29 TDs. in 8 games, and has led Oklahoma to 50.3 points per game.
Colt McCoy of Texas, a redshrit junior quarterback, has been unstoppable this year with a 81.8 percent passing, 21 TDs., 2,285 yards and a 186.5 passing rate but all helping to lead his team to a 7-0 start.
Tim Tebow a redshirt junior quarterback from Florida, and the 2007 returning Heisman winner, is threat in the air as well as he is on the ground.  He holds the all-time NCAA record for the most rushing TD’s by any quarterback.
But in the shadows here comes a new face.  Oklahoma State sophomore wide receiver Dez Bryant, 6’2 215, is looking to be a Heisman candidate as he leads the Big 12 in receiving with 51 catches for 883 yards. He’s averaging 17.3 yards per catch with 11 touchdowns on the year after last year he had a total of six TDs. in a total of twelve games  with four games remaining in the season.
Dez has came from not being picked by no one in football during his middle school days to being pick by the nation as one of the nations best wide receivers.  He went from 43 catches to 51 catches and that’s only in eight games and he still has four more games left.
His hard work, determination, and passion for the game has helped him become a better player year in and year out.  He improves so much each year and as he continue to get better he leaves the competition behind him.
He works so hard and his stats show it that’s why teams plan so hard against him because he makes play after play.
So keep your eyes and ears open because here comes a new face on the ballot and he’s looking very impressive.
