Lady Panthers win Bryan Invitational track meet

The Lady Panthers track team dominated the Bryan Invitational by racking up 144 points, 50 points ahead of second place Spring.

The girls placed first in four events, consisting of the 400-meter relay with a time of 49.5, which is a qualifying time for Texas Relays, also the 1600-meter relay, 300-meter hurdles, and the triple jump.

Olivia McKinney brought Lufkin nine points, getting 2nd in the 800 meter run and helped the 1600 meter relay girls win first.

“I am very proud of my teammates,” McKinney said. “And I am looking forward to district so  we can show everyone how much we have improved.”

Taylor Lowery helped Lufkin stay in the lead winning 26 points with her 2nd place win in the 300 meter hurdles and the 100 meter hurdles, and helping win first in the 400 meter relay.

The Lady Panther varsity track team will be getting ready for their district meet which is held in College Park April 14 and 16.
