The Lady Pack Softball team has done the unthinkable and won a district game, something the team hasn’t done in two years. They came out on top winning four straight games in their second round of district beating each team with an average of four runs per game.
“I was so proud of the girls,” said Slaton.
The Lady Pack team are trying to find ways during practice to keep them up beat and make it more rigorous and to better their team.
“We are always making small changes-tweaking the lineup and such,” Slaton said. “But we want to stick to the game plan.”
So far, Slaton does not think that her team has a weakness, but just a matter of being a young team.
“We are a faintly young team (age wise). We have many strenghts including overall power and size,” said Slaton. “And when we play ‘our’ game, we are unstoppable.”
Lady Pack Softball team stands at a respectable 4-6, loosing to Oak Ridge last night putting them tied with Conroe for second place in district play. This year’s softball team is trying to acheive the unbelievable–making it to the playoffs.
“I think it is definitely possible. We have to continue to work hard and be coachable. With determination and hard work we can accomplish anything,” said Starla Deponte
The Lady Panthers leave Thursday to face the New Caney Eagles in their third and final round of district.
