Blood Drive this week

Lufkin High School will be hosting a blood drive on Feb. 11-12, according to Marcia Waller.
“Our goal is to get 55 units each day, or a total of 110 units,” Waller said.
The blood donated will be going to both Lufkin and Nacogdoches hospitals. Waller also added that the only thing needed to donate was “desire, general good health, and of course a meal one hour before donating.”
Advice she gives to students who might be first-time donors and are nervous.
“If a students wants to donate, they must eat foods high in iron, drink plenty of water and have no recent tattoo’s or piercings.”
