Juniors taking field test on Thursday

This Thursday, all members of the junior class will be taking an English TAKS field test during first, second and third period. A list of classroom assignments will be posted outside of the cafeteria before the testing period.
According to Shelley Slaton, curriculum and testing principal, the field test is the state testing and gathering data over questions that will be used for future tests.
“The field test is something that is mandatory of the Texas Education Agency,” Slaton said. “The tests will not count for any part of the student’s grade, in fact, we will not even receive the scores back from the state.”
Many juniors are not too excited about taking the test and others have somewhat of mixed feelings about the matter, such as Ethan Mettlen.
“I think English is my strong suite, however, I am not really looking forward to taking the test because I will not receive my score back,” he said.
