There is only one chance to catch the Lufkin High School’s Drama Department UIL One Act play, “The Man Who Came To Dinner,” which is at 7 p.m., Friday, March 26 at the Lufkin Middle School Auditorium.

“The play is an old classic by Kaufman and Hart about a celebrity who slips on ice and must stay in a home in Mesalia, Ohio and all the crazy things that happen,” Director Cay Billingsley said.

Before the Drama Department was ready to put a show on for the community, they performed it in front of a certified UIL judge at the One-Act Play Clinic March 12, according to Billingsley.

“The clinic was important for us because it helped us take our performance to the next level, Billingsley said.” And it always helps to have a fresh set of eyes before contest.”

Along with attending the clinic, the students practiced four times a week after school in preparation for the UIL Competition April 1 at Conroe High School.
